Samsung Galaxy S5 possible with new head and gesture control

Slowly but surely approaching the unveiling of the Samsung Galaxy S5 . And we did not always see as useful features of the Galaxy S4 already smart, though as  Eye Pause  and  Scroll Eye , Samsung Galaxy S5 possible for the next generation of head-and gesture control in store. This appears, at least from a recently published European patent application.

The images shown above from the patent shows how a page can be turned through a zijwaartste head movement - an extension to the existing repertoire of oogbesturingsfeatures in Samsungs TouchWiz interface, especially as the patent describes how certain actions be done after The user confirms the action with a nod. In other words, an action is triggered by a head movement, but requires confirmation by a kink.

This patent application was indeed published yesterday, but all presented in early July 2013, ie, after the release of the Galaxy S4. Because of this - and because the captured opportunities this past Eye Scroll   and other existing features TouchWiz go - we think this patent shows features that will make for the next generation high-end devices from Samsung, including the Galaxy S5 their appearance.

LG Electronics (LG) today unveiled its newest Smart TV platform at the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. webOS, which was purchased from Hewlett-Packard in March last year, has been reinvented and reintroduced as LG’s new Smart TV platform. The new operating system offers an intuitive user interface for an experience that is both seamless and refreshingly uncomplicated, based on years of experience collected by the webOS team. Furthermore, the new platform makes it extremely easy for developers to create applications and enhances the compatibility of LG’s Smart TVs with other devices.

Simple to Connect, Easy to Use

The webOS platform, which will be implemented in more than 70 percent of LG’s Smart TVs in 2014, greatly simplifies the smart TV experience. Its ease-of-use makes content searching and viewing, connecting with other devices, and even the initial setup process incredibly smooth. The first time the user turns on the webOS-enabled LG Smart TV, an animated character named BeanBird appears onscreen to help get connected and walk the use through the setup process. All the viewer has to do is shake the Magic Remote or press the OK button to receive further advice from the winged virtual facilitator. webOS can instantly recognize when and what kind of external device has been plugged into the TV and brings up a pop-up menu listing all relevant options for the user to choose from.

Instant Access and Easy Content Switching

The new Launcher, a left-to-right scrollable menu that runs along the lower portion of the screen is one of the most distinctive features of webOS. The Launcher makes it possible to switch between broadcast TV, smart TV content and media stored on external devices without having to return to the Home screen. Content Discovery Made Simple

The webOS development team in LG’s Silicon Valley Lab created the unique Today menu as a one-stop content recommendation service, suggesting popular TV shows, programs that have been missed as well as full-feature movies. Running horizontally along the center of the screen, the Today bar can also be scrolled up or down via the Magic Remote wheel to reveal more exciting viewing options.

LG’s webOS also offers access to the LG Store’s comprehensive collection of apps. The LG Store lets users browse the most-viewed and most-downloaded items available from across the Smart TV platform, including broadcast TV programs and the latest games. The logically organized categories, which include 3D content, games and movies, employ thumbnail images for fast and convenient selection of content.

Sony goes all in on cloud with game TV streaming

PlayStation Now, the new streaming game service unveiled at CES, means instant access to games from older PS devices -- and youll also be able to access it on TVs, phones, and tablets.

The new streaming game service will provide instant access to games from previous versions of products including those for the PlayStation 3 and PS2. Even non-console owners will be able to access it on TVs, phones, tablets, promised Andrew House, group CEO for Sony Computer Entertainment.
A closed beta will begin in the US at the end of January, with a full rollout this summer.
Also at CES on Tuesday, Sony said that by the end of December it had sold more than 4.2 million units of its new PlayStation 4 game console, which went on sale in mid-November.
House also unveiled the companys new cloud-based video service, which will offer easier access to TV content for customers via its PlayStation consoles. The service will enable people to watch TV and movies whenever they want and on whatever device they want, including devices such as the iPad and smartphones. The service will also provide the ability to search across video-on-demand content, as well as live TV programming.
Sony will be testing the new service this year in the US.
